It's a little more complicated to set up, but it works. I would have Paris -> Brussels -> Paris -> Lille -> Brussels -> Paris. Instead of Paris -> Lille -> Brussels -> Lille -> Paris Are there any early maps involving Paris? In the earlier games that was when you really learned how to manage loads efficiently.Į.g. I used to set up routes between two big cities so that a train passing through a smaller town on the way would only stop there once every second pass. Secondly, try to balance the number of trains entering your bigger towns with the number going to small towns. You just don't want your slowass trains getting in the way of your fast passengers. I know you moguls are out there, hook me up with the tricks to get me teh phat lewts!įirstly, industry and passenger trains should be running on different lines as much as possible. I tend to end up with a lot of trains, only about half of which make more than 10 or 20k per run. My real weakness, I think, is the fine points of setting up rail routes. I even managed to make some excellent money by buying an ailing Weapons Factory, connecting it with Steel, Iron and Lumber producers, then connecting it with a Barracks. I'm pretty sure I understand how the economy works in the second American scenario, I managed to make some good cash by buying the Logging Camps, building Pulp Mills and Lumber Mills and spreading the end goods to consumers. Other than that, if anyone would like to give strategy advice, I'm more than willing to listen. I seem to be in a 'build it!' mentality.Īnyway, my only real question so far is, what do the numbers after the locomotive name mean? For instance, they'll have 'Firefly 2-2-2'. So, when I saw Railroad Tycoon 3 on Steam for $10, I eagerly plunked down my CC#. I've never played a Railroad Tycoon game before, but recently played through RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and enjoyed it immensely. Just picked up this game a couple of days ago.
