He said it’s also important for trustees to listen to “everyone’s side before making a decision so we all have our say,” adding that the current five members on the board make a good team, “a very good working group.” The round table of board members, Del Rio said, is “pretty switched around” as far as where board members reside, with members hailing from Pollock Pines, El Dorado Hills, Shingle Springs and Rescue, serving as a “really good layout of the community. “The second one would be being fiscally conservative and the idea of just because it’s public dollars means you still have to be responsible,” continued Del Rio, who also runs a nonprofit, which gives him a different point of view. Now kids can attend schools in their own neighborhoods and I think that’s one of the biggest accomplishments. “All we want to do is adjust and that is what we did. Instead of doing a boundary change, I submitted information on boundary adjustments,” he explained. I was one of those who backed boundary adjustments. “It’s important to me that kids get to go to school with their peers. We don’t have to do this we want to do this.”ĭel Rio cited some notable achievements during his time on the board.
